There's no better way to backup your files than using a software that does it for you. It spares you from periodically copying data from one place to another and keep track of it all. SyncBackPro will prove to be an invaluable tool if you have data taht you can't afford to lose.

Having it on your computer is not hard. The package is 8 and a half Mb large and the installation process involves a standard wizard which only needs to know where to unpack the program.

The interface is a simple looking window with rich menus. The most important functions can be found on the window's bottom as buttons. The main part of the window is a list of backup or synchronization tasks. When you run the program for the first time, you can notice that it's completely empty. In order to create a new task, you need to click the "new" button and a wizard will guide you all the way. You don't need to know much about file backups or synchronization. While creating a new task, you'll be interviewed by the wizard. It will ask you questions like what kind of task you wish to create: backup, sync, mirror or group. All sorts of questions will follow, for example, if you want to back up files from or to a FTP server, an email server, and many more. In short, the program will help any novice user create a backup. You can find a written explanation under each answer and if you want more, you can click on the answer itself in order to bring up a help file.

The program may be a bit too helpful for some users. Sometimes you can't click anything without a message popping up in your face. It's like an answering machine (for English press 1). It will explain a lot of stuff you're about to do and it will ask if you're sure you want to do it. But then again, you must appreciate the fact that it's trying to help you out and it won't let you figure everything out by yourself.

The "modify" button from the bottom of the window will let you make changes to a task at anytime. You just need to have a little patience going through all the options the program provides. When a task is created, SyncBack will prompt you with a recommendation telling you that you should simulate the task first in order to make sure it will run smoothly. When you're ready and everything is done, just hit the run button, also found on the bottom side of the window. In a short while, your files will be copied to a specified folder. If you lose the original files, just select the task and click the restore button and you'll find them back where they were.

If you're not familiar with such a software, SyncBackPro is not a glorified file copier. You can also back up your emails, schedule tasks to be performed on a regular basis, create mirror images of your files, back them up as zipped files and many more.

Pros

The program offers a wide range of features you can use in order to save your files from accidentally losing them. While doing so, it will guide you every step of the way.

Cons

There are too many messages popping up, informing or asking you something. This tends to be a little bit annoying. Your files are saved with SyncBackPro. No matter how inexperienced you may be, you won't have any trouble backing up your data.
